A member of a large family in New York City, Swiyyah Akhtab was born with fashion in her veins. The Brooklyn native always stood out from her peers with her out landish and edgy outfits she often made herself. Friends and neighbors took notice of her bold dresses and began putting in orders for her eye catching pieces. This was the birth of  SwiyyahCouture.

Although Swiyyah had been designing garments exclusively for family and friends, she took her first dive at a runway show in early 2010, debuting her 12-piece dress collection at "The Elude Fashion Show" in Brooklyn. Her collection made her an instant smash with international super model and runway coach Lu Sierra. Since then, Swiyyah has launched a swimsuit collection SwiyyahCouture swimwear for "Bikini Under the Bridge" in Brooklyn, Presented her Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Collection's for " The Designer Collective" fashion show case for NYFW, and has had garments featured in Zink Magazine.

While working to take her brand to the next level, Swiyyah is quickly creating a name through social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram creating a cult following. Swiyyah recieves on going request for custom made garments ranging from the US to South Africa.

Swiyyah Couture is the embodiment of Glamour, Edge, Freedom and the Future . Swiyyah Akhtab believes that a women's individuality is the key source behind her eternal style. Each inspiration is transformed into innovative yet provacative fashion forward pieces that dare to challenge the normal.

Swiyyah Couture promises to remain creative, exciting and ever changing so long as fearless fashion exist.
